    Description

His name is Clifford, and he was a child’s Christmas present in 1927.  He is 18” tall with a celluloid head, cloth body (with non working crier), and composition arms and legs.  This doll is marked Germany with the turtle mark.  His head and neck plate have damage as shown in the photos.  In addition to the cracks, I believe the head has been repaired where the hair color looks darker.  He has a ruffled shirt with silk pants and jacket with a belt. His shoes and socks are likely original, and are not in the best shape.  His socks have holes, and one shoe is taped where the strap is missing.  He was displayed for years with the cap, but I think he looks better without it.  The cloth body and composition arms and legs are in very good shape for a doll this old.  He has been played with, and it shows in the sturdy character of his face.  From a smoke free home.  Shipped USPS Priority Mail.
