Cast Iron Lantern - Heavy Pagoda Garden Lantern - Trunk Base - Gorgeous Asian Style Lantern!
NOTE: This will be fragile packed and shipped by UPS - fully insured and a signature will be required.
This lantern is fully verdigris coated in green - this is an applied aged finish - this is a factory finish
The Door is removable and rests in place on the hinge points - it is loose fitting and the latch moves freely - this needs a little work to be a tighter fit or leave as is.
This is a HUGE lantern! A very large, heavy, ornate and decorative lantern~
This has a light inside, that is the way I found it. There is a coarse / rigid weave / fabric on the inside of the lantern body.
The light and cord can be removed.
The fabric has two tears, a vertical uneven tear where it ends its loop inside and one horizontal about three inches long by the door - this does not affect showing - see photos
NOTE: The base of the lantern has a bolt and weld to the trunk that holds them together. The body and roof rest on top of the base, they are not attached but stacked. There are two threaded holes in the roof, where two threaded rods to go completely through the body to the base where nuts and washers are installed, this holds the top assembly together. This is not shown in the photos.
Measurements:
Height - 26.5 inches tall - base to the topknot
Roof measures - 13.75 inches in diameter
Lantern body - middle section is 6.5 inches in diameter
Foot print / base of trunk is 12 inches long and 7.25 inches wide at the widest point
This would very nice lantern for a sunroom. If you put it outside, being iron, it will rust.
