This is a Group of (50) Antique Glass
Glass Reflectors.
These are very old,
1920's or 30's
, glass, new old stock, unused, made in the style of reflectors used in stop signs, railroad crossing, and varies other signs made in that era and before. They are in mint new old stock condition. They are a beautiful reflective clear with a
smooth bubble domed top with a slightly concaved bottom with dimples, which gives a reflective optic effect
. They measure 9/16" diameter by 1/4" tall, with a little larger 5/8 " ring around the base for holding them in place in a bezel. They have a very small rim around the base that could be used to hold them in a bezel or could be glued or double sided taped in place. Please look at all the photos and drawings for clarity on the dimensions.

While these may not be original from the 1800's, these are very early 20th century glass reflectors sourced from an old automotive parts, and promotions distribution shop in Baltimore that opened in 1913. These were used for sourced from their sign department and used to create signs, auto lens, and bicycles from that era. These would be great for many uses and could be used for yard art, garden jewels, bicycles, motorcycles, cars, fire trucks, emergency, arts, crafts, signs, and
while not original 1800's, they are very old and look great in old stop signs and train crossings signs
.
The uses are endless and could be used on many different projects.

These NOS parts were sourced from R.J. LOOCK, we were lucky enough to purchase the recovery rights to this long since closed parts distributer, several years ago. There was a treasure trove of parts and advertising. There was no working elevator and the buildings were 4 floors tall with a basement, and they
NEVER threw ANYTHING of value AWAY!
It took us 2 months, full time, to sort through and we are just now starting to offer what we have found. If you like high quality, great price NOS parts, then look no further than our store by

LOOCK
Was a
Baltimore
Institution when it came to Automobiles. They operated at the same location : 339-345 N Gay st from
1913
until the neighborhood declined and the last heir retired in 2001. They were not your ordinary cookie cutter automotive parts store like you see today. They were parts distributors as well as jobbers for their own LIGHTNIN Parts line as well as for most of the top brands of the day. They sold: Auto supplies, Replacement parts, Garage equipment, Shop equipment, Tires, Tubes, Oil, Grease, Accessories and they even had a Complete Machine Shop. This may not sound different from an auto zone except Loock was responsible for placing products such as Champion Spark Plugs, Quaker State and Gates belts (to name a VERY few products) into EVERY private and municipal garage that used them in a 5 state area. long before the Internet and trade shows, these guys were road warriors that sold stuff the hard way on a massive scale. As the 22 floors of parts and samples that they left behind will attest...thats right, I said
22 FLOORS of samples, parts and advertising
! R.R.Loock tried to sell ANY quality product that they thought had a chance . Of course, as jobbers they were responsible for placing advertising in the businesses that they catered to as well.
Balmer Glass is NOT your typical glass company. As a kid I was fascinated by glass dishes and bottles that I would find around old home sites on the Rural Eastern Shore of MD. As an adult , I can't say that I am a hoarder (some might), but when going through buildings that are being torn down, I pay attention to glass that is worth giving a new life to. It could be bottles, light shades, rippled window glass , wire glass or even chunks of glass cullet that are left over from when we had a glass industry in this country. I even went so far as to start blowing and manufacturing items myself. This site gives us the opportunity to share our obsession with YOU.

We started in the Architectural salvage business rescuing fireplace mantles and cast iron door locks from construction dumpsters, we have opened our eyes to many types of waste that are overlooked and often fall through the cracks. Our focus is, and will always be vintage items of the highest quality. All of our items are salvaged and are for the most part American made. One week we could be in an old school, the next week a factory, and the following week a Shipyard or Power Plant. One day we may be removing Vintage lighting, the next Signs and Vintage blueprints, and the following day we clean out the Machine shop and parts crib.
We literally have NO idea what we have coming around the corner, so make sure you add us to your favorites and check back often.
