    Description

    ITEM: Antique Japanese Kakejiku hanging scroll art painting featuring a majestic crested Bird of Prey.  Artist signed with caligraphy. Masterfully hand painted on a thick textured paper with pieced together textured and patterned silk border. Bottom roller is carved. Top hanger is ribbon fabric with attached metal loops.  Looks to be 1800s, possibly earlier. From the estate of a family that lived in Japan in the early 1900s and collected Japanese antiques, which came home with them when they moved back to the US in the 1950s.
    SIZE:  Approximately 74.25" x 18.875", Image is 48.25" x 14", Carved cow or ox bone roller on the bottom is 21" across. Weight is 11 oz before packaging.
