Haffler DH-101 Preamp Upgraded and Refurbished! Sounds Wonderful!

I received this unit in working condition and enjoyed the sound so much I decided to refurbish it. I spent some time replaced all of the capacitors, rebuilding the power supply. I was still enjoying it so much that I went through the effort to replace all of the RCA jacks. I upgraded my preamplifier to high end unit. It took a quite a unit to preamplifier this one off of my Hifi rack. It is surprising how much these DH-101's punch above their weight class.
I only use Cardas Quad Eutectic
solder when working on electronics.
All potentiometers and switches have been cleaned and exercised. Phono sounds great, tape works aux works, tone works
etc..
David Hafler was known for designing great circuit topography. This unit has carbon film and metal film resistors, film caps in the signal paths, all new high-quality electrolytic caps throughout. All caps have been replaced. The new jacks are awesome and solve a big problem that these preamps generally have. I tried to find excuses to keep this unit but alas, with new projects on the horizon, I need to thin out the herd of electronics that aren't being enjoyed at the moment...
