Japanese Samurai on Horseback Watercolor Painting on Silk #1

Description

For sale is an unframed, very well painted watercolor of a Japanese samurai warrior on a black horse on white silk.
It measures about 14 X 17” / 35 X 42 cm.
It is in clean, very good to excellent condition with no rips or holes.
As shown in the images it is slightly wrinkled and, harder to picture, it has a very few, very tiny dark spots and an area of small foxing spots near the front of the horse.
The top and bottom edges show slight fraying, and the side edges have darkened.
I believe it was painted in the middle of the 20
th
Century.
It is signed in the lower right (pictured).
The work is very detailed and multi-colored.
