    Painter and Buddhist monk of the mid- to late-Edo period (1741-1809).
    Born on January 1, 1741. A member of the Jodo sect. Studied under Sakurai Sessen and Maruyama Okyo, and was influenced by Genmyo paintings and Yosa Buson. In An'ei 3, he became abbot of Jakushoji Temple in Ise (Mie Prefecture), where he devoted himself to social work. He died on January 12, Bunka 6, at the age of 69. Born in Owari (Aichi Prefecture). His family name was Tanke. His Buddhist name was Genzui. His family name was Genzui, and his stage name was Tamanari. His aliases include Jorensha Sho (honorific name) and Jakusho Shujin (master of Jakusho). His works include "Risenzu" (Encyclopedia of the Many Immortals).
