Japanese Lantern - Large 11 Inch Metal Pagoda Lantern - Highly Ornate~
This lantern is made of tin, not brass and is hand made / hand riveted - lots of detail
The door would have had a latch originally but was lost along it's journeys ~
The top knot ring has moth
motif - such a wonderful accent!
This lantern has some flex because it has been hand crafted and because it is tin - I appreciate the fact that it has survived in such good condition.
Please understand that this lantern is light due to being tin, super rusty due to being old and and not symmetrical / some warping / bending
I found no damage other than the slight bending and warping of the metal, the latch is missing and the doors are askew.
Measurements:
Height - 11 inches tall without hanger / with hanger 12.75 inches tall
Roof measures - 11 inches point to point
Body is 5.25 inches from side to side
Foot print / base is 8.5 inches from corner to corner / point to point
