    KANO ISEN'IN NAGANOBU
    (1775-1828) was a Kano-style painter. He was the 8th head of the
    Kobikicho Kano school and the son of Kano Yosen'in Korenobu (1753-1808), the 7th head of the Kobikicho Kano. The head of the Kobikicho Kano family was actually the top artist in Japan at that time. He studied painting under his father, and Korenobu said, "My son is superior to me." Naganobu was ordained as Hoin rank (the highest rank among Buddhist priests) from the Tokugawa Shogunate in 1816.
    KANO SEISEN’IN OSANOBU
    (1796-1846) was the 9th head of the Kobikicho Kano school. He was the first son of Kano Isen'in Naganobu (1775-1828). In 1834 he attained the highest rank for a Buddhist priest, Hoin. He oversaw the rennovation of the wall paintings of Nishinomaru Palace of Edo Castle from 1838 to 1839, and Honmaru Palace of it from 1844 to 1846.
