Many real-time playback products focus on a PC or Mac as a source via USB, and do not offer wifi or ethernet networkability, because of their age or lack of focus on network streaming. The solution has often been to replace them with a new and modern device, streaming media via Bluetooth or to compromise and use an iPhone or tablet via their analog output to feed active speakers or amplifiers.
The perfect solution was hard to find, until now. Stream Box S2 Ultra closes the gap, it offers modern connectivity with its network inputs and USB A output on the streaming box.
This USB output is optimized for audio signals. It uses a dedicated internal power supply and only top audiophile-grade components for the streaming device. You won‘t run into file-support issues, as Stream Box S2 Ultra acts as a bit-perfect network bridge, sending the files directly to your digital-to-analog converter via USB.
Since most DACs have one USB port, we have designed Stream Box S2 Ultra also to be a USB detox device for a cleaner audio signal. Simply connect your PC to the micro USB input of the unit and connect our DAC to the audio output. This way you can clean the noisy signal of your PC, while enjoying your music with it. Control is simple thanks to our iOS and Android compatible “Pro-Ject Play” app. Using your mobile device is even more convenient than a Google Assistant.
Alternately, the StreamBox S2 Ultra can be controlled directly via a USB mouse and attached monitor, web browser, or the powerful Roon software.
