Description
Perfect gift for dolly....What a darling,
8" tall,
vintage/antique, jointed Kewpie type, celluloid, baby doll type toy is this early model. Circa 1940s, and wearing a molded
red, hooded snow suit
or bunting with
molded peaked topknot
and molded ruffled collar, she has huge, painted intaglio (Googly) eyes and eyebrows, chubby cheeks, sweet mouth, cute little nose and fabulous coloring
and lovely blushed cheeks
as well as
molded and painted bottle in one hand
. She has joints at her shoulders and hips with flat feet,
signed across her shoulders
with a
clover type insignia with figure inside
and
Made in Occupied Japan
. Similar celluloid baby toys are pictured in, "Celluloid Dolls"-Lauer/Robinson. She is in excellent condition and has no damages or repairs, no splits, cracks or chips (two small dents in ankles that are hard to see, original stringing is loose, needing to be tightened).
