    Description

    An
    original
approximately 9" x 6" broadside handbill advocating a NO vote on a 1932 California ballot measure regarding regulation of racing in the state. Contemporary news accounts seem to show the measure as a well-intentioned effort to end corruption in horse wagering by instituting a pari-mutuel betting system, though seemingly unintended consequences would have wiped out the Golden State's important pre-War auto racing industry. The measure was soundly defeated in November of '32 and this a highly ephemeral survivor.
