    Description

    Vintage celluloid milkmaid doll with wooden clogs and milking can. 9 1/2 inches tall. Original costume with heavy felt skirt and Trade Mark label (please see photos). Made in Belgium and collector's pinned label reads "Belgium MilkMaid Brussels". She's got molded curly hair under a lace cap. Her shoes are delightfully carved wooden clogs. Cloth hands have fingers sewn in. Solid packed cloth body. This lady faces her work with red cheeked placidity. Maybe her calm gaze keeps the cows happy.
    This doll is from an estate whose heir reports that her great, great grandmother worked for a cruise ship, and collected dolls during her travels around the world.
