    Description

FOR SALE very nice looking and RARE WEGA Modul 42V stereo integrated amplifier in very good original condition and full working order.
It is everything about sound in Modul 42V. Phono stage is fantastic with all type of MM/MC cartridges.
    Modul 42V is
    powerful, stable, reliable.
The history of WEGA starts in Germany in the year 1923 with the manufacturing of radio receivers. In 1975 the company is aquired by SONY Japan. Initially under Sony ownership WEGA had designed his own components for a while (using Sony parts) but later all components had turned into SONY rebadged products
    .
A particullarly successful series of Hi-Fi components were introduced in 1976 that culminated in 1978 with this WEGA Modul 42 Series. This industrial design masterpiece is the work of famed designer Hartmut Esslinger (founder of FROG Design)
Released in 1978 during the HIFI Golden Era? of audiophile equipment, Wega is a beautiful, high-performance integrated amplifier developed in particular to avoid coloration of the audio signal.
    The
    Modul 42
    V
uses an enorrmous toroidal transformer inherited from the
    STR-7800SD
, heatsinks from the same Sony vintage (cut in two and placed differently),
    2x 15,000µF
of main caps and two pairs of Hitachi 2SD675 / 2SB655 output transistors (12A/125W).
If filters, two-step loudness, tone controls, tape dubbing,
    LED
s and other 1978 goodies abound, the
    42
    V
    also sports an
    MC
    phono stage, a
    four-gang
    attenuator,
    LEC
    transistors, an output relay and
    constant-current
    circuits.
In the power amp section, there is a differential amplifier, two power sources connected to all stages, and a pure complementary parallel push circuit. This features a high-output transistor with high reliability. The preamp features a low-noise IC which withstands high voltage and improves linearity and reduces distortion. Another salient feature of the Modul 42V is the de-coupling of the power and preamps, allowing you to take the output of the pre to a different power amp.Very cool! By virtue of its high build quality and outstanding sound, the Modul42V is overall a superb integrated amp.You can read more on thevintageknob org..
